Beverly (Bev) Ann Huizenga

February 5, 1958 - January 2, 2026

Beverly Ann Huizenga, lovingly known as Bev, age 67, of Mill Creek, Washington, passed away on January 2, 2026, at Swedish Hospital in Edmonds, Washington.

Bev was born on February 5, 1958, in Olympia, Washington, to Don and Mary Anderson. She was raised on a dairy farm in Yelm, Washington, alongside her eight brothers and sisters, where she learned the values of hard work, faith, and caring for others that would shape her entire life.

Bev married her high school sweetheart on August 19, 1978, and together they moved to Bellingham, Washington, where they welcomed two children, Mark and Ruth. Tragically, her first husband, Mark Olson, passed away in a farming accident. Later, through a blind date arranged by mutual friends, Bev met David Huizenga. They married and shared 41 wonderful years together. Bev and Dave built a loving family and eventually settled in Bothell, Washington, where they welcomed Elizabeth and Timothy. Their family grew again when they adopted Austin, completing a home filled with love, laughter, and fellowship shared with friends and extended family.

Bev dedicated 32 years of service to the Northshore School District Food Services, where she touched countless lives through her generosity, kindness, and joyful spirit.

Beverly was a true example of humility and a living demonstration of Christ’s love for others. She consistently put the needs of others before her own, often giving the shirt off her back to someone in need. She cared for the elderly and the sick, fed the hungry, opened her home to those without shelter, raised children without parents, and befriended those who felt alone. She was known throughout her community for her warm smile, welcoming hugs, and compassionate listening ear.

Her generosity knew no bounds—providing food and drinks for gatherings, thoughtful gifts for loved ones, charitable donations, generous tips to service workers, and the occasional hundred-dollar bill slipped quietly into the pockets of nieces and nephews. Bev was truly the “life of the party” and the “light of the room.” Her infectious positivity brought hope to others even in their darkest moments. Her warmth, sincerity, hugs, kisses, and giggles will be deeply missed.

God sent to earth His little missionary of love and goodwill in Bev and has now called her home, saying, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

Bev is survived by her devoted husband, David Huizenga; her five children, Mark (Amanda) Olson, Ruth (Beau) Hansen, Elizabeth (Jason) Cleveland, Timothy Huizenga, and Austin (Hailey) Huizenga; and her beloved grandchildren, Ella, Micah, Amelia, Parker, Jenny, Austin Jr., and Aiden, as well as her sisters (Rita, Donna and Cathy) and brothers (Clifford, Nels and Kenny) and numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mark Olson; her parents, Don and Mary Anderson; her sister, Mary Myers; and her brother, Donald Anderson.

A memorial service will be held  January 17th at 1:00 p.m at Shoreline Christian Reformed Church, 14555 25th Ave NE, Shoreline WA 98155 and will be live-streamed at www.shorelinecrc.org.  Light refreshments will be provided following the service.
