Henry Charles Lucas IV

October 27, 1965 - August 21, 2026

Henry Charles Lucas IV, affectionately known to all as Charles, passed away on August 21, 2026, in SeaTac, Washington, at the age of 60. Born on October 27, 1965, Charles brought warmth, intellect, and kindness to the lives of everyone who knew him. Charles grew up in the communities of Bala Cynwyd and Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, where he formed many foundational memories. He attended Montgomery Country Day School and later graduated from Episcopal Academy for high school. A lifelong lover of words, he had a deep passion for reading and writing, finding great joy and solace in literature.

Charles possessed a vibrant creative spirit and an array of passionate hobbies. He loved playing Dungeons and Dragons, and he found immense joy in teaching others how to play the game. He was also a dedicated artisan within that fantasy world, spending countless hours painting and collecting intricate game models. His appreciation for storytelling extended into a deep love for gaming and comic books. He became an avid collector, meticulously preserving and selling classic comic books from the 1970s and 1980s.

When he wasn’t immersed in his collections, Charles could be found cheering passionately as a dedicated Philadelphia sports fan. He also held a deep affection for animals, regularly sharing his gentle nature by pet sitting for families in his community. Above all else, Charles was happiest when he was enjoying quality time surrounded by his family.

Charles is survived by his loving family, including his devoted sisters, Ann, Susan (husband Rocco), and Mary (husband Keven); his brother, James (wife Tina); his cherished nieces, Sydney, Sophie, Charlotte, and Gianna; and his dear nephews, Colin, Tristan, and Lucas. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ann, and his father, Henry. His gentle spirit and love for his family will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
