Barbara Jean Klusacek

Barbara Klusacek, 78, passed away peacefully at her home in Kirkland, Washington, on August 31, 2026. Her final evening was filled with the presence of her loving family and shared stories, brightened by the laughter of her newest great-grandchild.

Born in East Orange, New Jersey, Barbara lived a life that carried her to many places. Over the years, she made her home in New Jersey, Florida, Georgia, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Germany. Each place added another chapter to her life and brought friendships and memories that remained important to her.
Barbara’s always optimistic and carefree spirit was evidenced by her lifelong love of dancing and socializing with friends. Her biggest smiles were on display while she was clogging in exhibitions, dancing on tables at the Moose club, or regaling those around her with the stories of her travels, preferably with a big piece of cake and ice cream on her plate.

Barbara also loved boating, crafts, walking in nature, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially treasured the lifelong bond she shared with her twin sister, Dorothy—a connection that began before birth and continued throughout their lives.

She is survived by her son, David (Stephanie); her daughter, Sandee (Torry); five grandchildren (Kaelyn, Madeline, Jonan, Abigail, and Emma); two great-grandchildren (Theodore and Zoe); her twin sister, Dorothy (Greg); her brother, Larry (Andrea); and the many friends she made throughout her life.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy. Following cremation, her ashes will be scattered with his in Lake Washington—a fitting resting place for someone who found such happiness on the water.
