When I didn’t hear from you for a while, I figured you were just partying on some other end… instead I hear you left the party early, without saying goodbye… either of which are almost unforgivable faux pas, but I’d forgive you if you came back for just one more round. Caskey and I worked in the same field, and first met at a USENIX LISA conference, where he gave a great presentation. Afterwards, both of us being big guys, folks came up to me and said, "Great talk Caskey!". We became quick friends when I brought this to his attention. :). We kept in contact, and whenever we were near the other, we'd try hang out together, and find a good bottle of scotch to kill over some good conversation. While I like to think I’m good at what I do, Caskey was just another level, and made me strive to do better. His knowledge covered so much more than just the tech career he held. His openness to sharing what he knew and kindness to others, is something we could all strive to be better at. I miss you, my friend. “Giga-waabamin naagaj”, or something like that….
