Beloved Mother, Catherine Anne Driscoll passed away at her home in Mill Creek,
Washington on Saturday morning, May 17, 2025. Known as Cathy with a “C”, she resided in the Mill Creek/Bothell area of Washington state since 1979. She is survived by her two daughters, Susanne and Diane, and her beloved grandsons, Tristan and Christopher whom affectionally called her “CC”.
Cathy was born and raised by Harold and Catherine Cree in Tyrone, Pennsylvania. In the Fall of 1979, Cathy ventured with her two daughters to relocate to the Seattle area where her sister lived. Cathy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education at Indiana State University and soon thereafter began her career as an elementary school teacher until her move to Washington state. Her next professional opportunity was with the Boeing Company which lasted about 18 years where she worked in various support positions and eventually became trained as a Drafter. After an early retirement from Boeing, she started a career with Nordstrom as a Customer Service Representative. This was a position that Cathy loved, as it allowed her to overindulge in her passion for shoes, jewelry, and handbags.
In her earlier years, Cathy was also a piano teacher which allowed her to combine her talents as a teacher with her love of music and often accompanied her daughter Diane during her singing gigs. Some of her favorite artists included Tom Jones, Elvis, Sam Harris, Adam Lambert, and her favorite band of all time, Supertramp! Cathy was a year-round Christmas enthusiast, had a love of container gardening, flowers, the Seattle Mariners, and supporting the troops during Desert Storm while her daughter Susanne served in the military. As a single parent, Cathy raised her daughters with a well-rounded appreciation for life experiences ranging from a fancy night at the theater to roughing it on a weekend camping trip.
In addition, Cathy enjoyed the company of numerous cats and dogs throughout her
lifetime, and we know that she is delighted to be reunited at the Rainbow Bridge with all those pets who have passed before her. Cathy will be missed greatly by her family and especially her much-loved dog, Harold, whom she named after her father.
Cathy’s daughters and grandsons acknowledged her life and passing on a recent trip to the Oregon Coast, scattering some of her ashes at Ecola State Park in Cannon Beach, Oregon, a place that Cathy and her family visited often over the years. Donations in Cathy’s name may be made to the Seattle Humane Society, 13212 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue, WA 98005 – www.seattlehumane.org
