BJ., this is a beautifully written obituary of your father. Thanks for sharing his life story! Jim was an amazing uncle! I always looked forward to his trips to Wisconsin. I especially got to know him well on his last visit. He stayed with us for a couple of months, and it was really nice to have him around. With Love, Tina

I knew Jim from when he came to work with me at the public heath department in Seattle. I felt so lucky to have him as a colleague. His work created the foundation for a whole new approach to accessing and visualizing public data to describe a community's health. This foundation lives on today, underlying current data systems. Quite a legacy. And he was a wonderful person to spend time with - independent, quirky, amazing set of skills, humble, wry sense of humor, kind, helpful. My life is richer for having known him.
