Lorraine Olson passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2025 at the age of 96, in Bellevue, WA after a brief illness. She was born February 24th ,1929 in Pierce City, Missouri to parents Lorraine and Roy Hamilton. Lorraine was the youngest of six children, with four brothers and a sister. She spent her early years in various states as her parents moved for work, landing in California where she met and married her high school sweetheart, John L. Agler. Lorraine raised three daughters primarily as a single parent and encouraged independence and self-reliance, hard work and generosity.

Lorraine had a long career with Crown Zellerbach in San Francisco, which merged with James River by the time she retired. She managed the data center for many years before taking over the accounting department. An avid golfer since the 1960’s, Lorraine organized the CZ golf tournaments for decades and initially was one of the only women to participate. She also ran the football pool. Happy to entertain, her coworkers spent fun evenings playing bridge and enjoyed fabulous multicultural potlucks. Ever the gracious hostess, Lorraine and her husband hosted many holiday parties for their colleagues, family and friends in our home.

Lorraine married Warren Olson in 1996 and shortly thereafter moved to Arizona where they were members of the Briarwood Country Club in Surprise, AZ. Together they traveled the world, and golfed many major golf courses across Europe, the United States and Canada. She golfed until age 88 when a broken arm ruined her game. Following Warren’s passing, Lorraine moved to Seattle to be near her daughters and lived for five years with her daughter Mindy, before moving to Ohana Hale Senior Living of Bellevue. The family is grateful for the loving care Lorraine received in her final years from the staff.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Warren, daughter Kim Landin (Agler), grandson Julian McCarthy, parents, brothers Hudson, Glenn, Dewitt, and Wayne Hamilton, and sister Phyllis Soares. She is survived by her daughters Nancy Agler of Enumclaw, and Mindy (Jay) Gardner of Whidbey Island, her grandchildren Glenna (Mike) McCarthy, Greg (Saman) Landin and David (Jamie) Landin, Sara (Andrew) Magnusson, great-grandchildren Andre, Jacob, Kalani, Ian, and Parsa, and stepchildren Robert Olson of Maine and Diana (Oscar) Ramos of Madrid. Lorraine’s extended family includes many nieces and nephews, including her sister’s children Julee Peterson and Kathleen Soares with whom she was very close. Lorraine’s family will scatter her ashes at sea off Whidbey Island in mid-August.
