Obituaries

Bertha Mae Asp, 87, passed away peacefully at the Adult Care Home she had been
living in, on June 28, 2023.

She was born in Pennsylvania to Harry and Evelyn. She was the first born daughter
and her sister Donna, would be born 13 months later. Although they were close in
age, they were quite different in their personalities.

After she graduated from High School, she married Helge Asp. They had only one
child, their daughter Kathy. In 1957, they moved from the East Coast to the
West Coast, in hopes of getting a job at Boeing.

Bertha was quite the social butterfly and well liked by many! Of her many jobs, she
volunteered at the Kent Food Bank, of which she met many of her long time friends.
She worked in retail, owned a consignment shop with a friend and worked in and
sold antiques in two friends shops in the Kent area.

In later years, Bertha and her daughter sold antiques and collectibles in Antique
malls in Enumclaw, Fife and Kent.

She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Tony), her grandsons Christopher (Jessica),
Todd (Amber) and great grandchildren, Careema and Jeffery.
