Nadine was a beautiful woman devoted to her family, nursing profession and her Christian faith. She passed away on Easter Sunday. Nadine had recently joyfully celebrated her 90th birthday.
E. Nadine Johnson was born in Burlingame Kansas, later moved to Oregon and attended Sherwood High, where she was crowned the Senior May Queen in 1954.
She married Lee Roy Warner, from neighboring Lake Oswego Oregon, in 1954. They settled in Tualatin Oregon and welcomed four children to their home.
Always a hard worker, Nadine took care of her four children as well as other neighborhood children, took in odd ironing/sewing jobs, and waited tables to help support their family of six. Nadine re-entered the work force after staying home with young children, by taking a job in the same profession she held prior to starting her family, as an office nurse at a Portland area heart clinic. She loved working in the medical field and was very good at it with her skill, compassion, empathy for others and her cheery disposition.
Years later her husband’s employment took him to the Seattle area, so she followed him and continued to work in the medical field as an office nurse. Her final position was working in a downtown Seattle high rise as an office nurse to a doctor with a solo practice. She worked for this doctor for over 20 years until retirement at 76 years of age. Nadine loved her job but sadly her bad knees would not let her continue her profession anymore. She retired after more than 40 years of being a devoted nurse to many doctors and patients.
Her husband Lee Roy preceded her death in 2005. Nadine is survived by her four children Kirk Warner (Pam), Ken Warner (Rebecca), David Warner (Christina), and DeeAnn Wheaton (David). She also is survived by seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Nadine will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, warmth and her beautiful smile. She loved being a mom, a grandma & ‘GG’ (Great Grandmother) and cherished every one of her family members, always gifting them generously on special occasions. Nadine was an excellent seamstress; she was always ready to make beautiful dresses or elaborate Halloween Princess costumes for her many granddaughters. She was such a generous, giving spirit and was always looking for someone to spoil. So many will miss her, she was such a special woman.
Her family wants to thank the people at the Factoria Adult Family Home, in Bellevue WA for their care and kindness in her final years.
Burial will be at Gibbs Cemetery on Chehalem Mountain, Sherwood Oregon beside her beloved Lee Roy.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Society in Nadine Warner’s name.
