Haruki “Hal” Williams, 75, of Olympia, WA, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024 in Seattle, WA. Born in September 1948, in Tokyo, Japan, Hal was a beloved father, grandfather, and partner. He is survived by his son, Patrick and daughter, Cortney; grandson Remi; partner Edith, and dog Tucker. He was preceded in death by his father J.D. and mother Katsuyo.

Hal had a distinguished 20-year career in the Army, serving as a physician’s assistant. After his military service, Hal continued his career as a PA with the WA State Department of Corrections and later as a civilian DOD employee at Madigan Army Medical Center and Tripler Army Medical Center.

In his free time, Hal enjoyed fishing, boating, watching the Mariners, gardening, cars, spending time with family, and shopping. He loved being on the water and cherished moments with his loved ones.

Hal’s educational journey took him from Narimasu High School in Tokyo, Japan to La Plata High School in Maryland, from which he graduated. He furthered his studies at the University of Hawaii at Hilo (B.S.) and Creighton University (M.S.).

A memorial service to honor Hal’s life will be held later in the Spring as the weather becomes warmer. Hal was a lover of animals, and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the ASPCA in memory of Hal.

Elemental Cremation and Burial in Seattle, WA, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.

Hal will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
