James Carper Stigamire passed peacefully on October 25, 2022, at the age of 94. He was born August 14,
1928, in Norwalk, Ohio to Rexford and Fern Stigamire.

Jim grew up in Willard, Ohio. After high school he served in the Army for two years. After his military
service, he began dating the love of his life, Joy, who has been by his side ever since. They were married
on his birthday, August 14, 1953, and recently celebrated their 69-year wedding anniversary.

Jim was a perpetual student. He earned his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green University and a
master’s degree at Western Reserve University. He was a Certified Public Accountant. He studied Law at
LaSalle Extension University and attended Harvard Business School. Jim had a 25-year career with the
Internal Revenue Service where he held many executive positions working in Seattle, WA, Washington
DC, Des Moines, IA, New York City, NY and San Francisco, CA. He retired at the age of 50.

Jim had a wonderful life full of laughter, travel, and good times with family and friends. Following his
retirement, he and Joy split their time between residences in Northern California, the Oregon coast, and
Hawaii. They travelled extensively throughout the United States, visiting every state at least once. Some
of their favorite activities were camping, wine tasting with friends, music, and whale watching from their
balcony in Brookings, OR.

Jim is survived by his wife Joy Stigamire, son James Stigamire, daughter Janelle Jaeger (Mark),
granddaughter Nicole Stigamire, grandsons Michael Stigamire, Andy Jaeger (Amber), Tony Jaeger and
great grandson Owen Jaeger.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Joann Walker, and Susie Trushel.
