Obituaries

Kevin John Osborne passed away at the age of 70 the morning of August 8, 2022.

Born on December 27, 1951 in South Bend, Indiana, Kevin was the youngest of three children
to parents Lyle and Millie Osborne, along with older siblings Ron and Louanne. He attended
Indiana University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history before migrating west to
the Seattle area in 1977. He cultivated an encyclopedic knowledge of plants while owning a
landscaping business, then transitioned to a career as a real estate agent with John L. Scott,
where he worked for 20 years. He delighted in the opportunity to help people find homes they
loved, and was recognized for his outstanding work.

He enjoyed the beauty of nature, playing guitar, and writing. In retirement, he spent time going
for daily walks along the water in Kirkland, checking the Mariners box score, and frequenting the
public library. He loved nothing more than being a grandpa, and followed each visit with earnest
anticipation of seeing his daughter’s family and grandson again soon.

Kevin is survived by his daughter Lily (husband Tyler) Barrett; mother Millie; sister Louanne;
grandson Malcolm Barrett; nephews Dustin (wife Jo Ann) Scharf and Brian Emmons; as well as
four great-nieces and great-nephews, Alessandra Emmons-Griffin and Thad, Calvin, and Avery
Scharf.

He was preceded in death by his father Lyle, brother Ron, and nephew Darrin Emmons.

He humbly requested that no service be held.
