Obituaries

The day that I anticipated with extreme dread came today when I was told by Cecile that you had passed away. So many thoughts and emotions immediately flooded my mind and heart. I will share 7 points: 1. I will never forget that we met as students at UW in Mercer Hall in the 1980s. 2. I will never forget how quickly we became friends and all of the conversations and laughter we shared that ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous. 3. I will never forget the fun times we shared at coffee shops and eateries along The Ave, the Husky football games that you snuck me into because I never received a student game pass (the song Tequila still causes flashbacks), and the late night dorm chats. 4. I will never forget how you never said an unkind word about anyone and wouldn't tolerate unkindness in others. 5. I will never forget how a patient young man from New Mexico was with a frenetic yet homesick kid from New Jersey. 6. I will never forget how you met Cecile the love of your life and how much you talked about her. 7. I will never forget how you never hesitated to give your friends hugs when saying hello and good bye. Even though we lost touch for a couple of decades but reunited recently, I wish that we had had more time to hang out. Rest well my friend! I will always remember your impact on my life and cherish the memories!
