I’ve needed some time to find a way to express my feelings and memories of Roy. I have found it interesting that life seems to bring just the right person into your life at just the right time. That is how it was in the 90s after I had moved to the area and was introduced to Roy. He was incredibly kind, warm hearted and imaginative beyond words. His unique view of the world and personality quirks made him immediately approachable. I knew he was someone special and certainly worth the knowing. As our friendship grew, he introduced me to many of his customs and rituals that were an essential part of who he was. His artistic creations adorn may home even today and are a special reminder of who he was. I knew when he met Melonie and they had Francisco and Sebastian that he would be a wonderful husband and father. He had so much to give. Roy was a very special part of my time in the Pacific Northwest. I remember that time fondly and all of the adventures we had together. We never know how much time we have in life, but what time we can share with our friends and family is to be cherished and not taken for granted. He will always be an influence in my life and never far from my thoughts. I imagine him now, sitting in a noir drenched café in the heart of Twitch City waiting for the rest of us to show up. We will be along shortly my friend.

My heart and Prayers that you find consolation in the time that Roy was in our lives. Mel and Boys may you always remember the funny, loving, special times that you had in the short 20+ years together. I know I will always remember how I could approach Roy with anything, his patience, understanding and ways to help with any challenge. He always showed me kindness in his eyes and a smile when in a meeting or when working on something at Region. While the saying goes "Time heals all wounds" I believe some people live larger lives and leave bigger impressions on those around them. Like a shinning star they sometimes must move on to another place, too soon for those who are pulled in by their gravity. Yet still their presence remains in the memories, family and friends they leave behind. This was Roy. <3 <3
