Sarah Joy Ewert entered the world on May 22, 1994 in Muncie, Indiana, and departed this life on November 23, 2021. Sarah spent her preschool years in Indiana and Kazakhstan. She moved with her family to Redding, California in June 1999 and attended school at Grant Elementary School and Shasta High School. Sarah participated in cheerleading, dance, and soccer throughout her adolescence.

Sarah moved to Seattle, Washington in August 2012 to study history at Seattle Pacific University. After exploring various job opportunities in Seattle, she entered the banking industry, and enjoyed serving the public and her co-workers at Chase Bank. Sarah loved international travel and visited five of the seven continents. Sarah was full of energy, friendly to strangers, always rooting for the underdog, protective of her loved ones, understanding and accepting of those marginalized by society, a music connoisseur, a playful jokester, and a lover of animals, especially her fur babies, Spencer and Ziggy.

Sarah is survived by her fiancée Taylor Vetter, mother Mary Bellafiore Ewert, father Donnell Ewert, stepmother Sharon Brisolara, sister Rebecca Ewert, sister-in-law Timna Axel, stepsister Isabela Acebal, grandmother Dorothea Bellafiore, grandfather Calvin Ewert, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sarah was preceded in death by her grandfather Joseph Bellafiore and grandmother Marian Ewert. Sarah was greatly loved by her family and close friends, who will always miss her.

A memorial service will be held to honor Sarah’s life on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 11 am at Dignity Health-Connected Living, 100 Mercy Oaks Dr., Redding, California. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Sarah to The Trevor Project or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
